6. I’ll be downgrading to IOS 17. Apps are beginning to crash i.e. Instagram and Facebook first, then the Apple Store and eBay apps. The Apple Store app!? I’ve already deleted and reinstalling and rebooted my iPad multiple times. Very annoying and disappointing.🤦🏽‍♀️

7. I found the notes transcription feature doesn’t work on my iPad 9, but it does on my new M2 Air. Must be a hardware limitation..

14. One thing I want a calculator to do is provide a time calculator setting. Aside from calculating simple things like converting hours into minutes, etc., it’s so difficult, I don’t even know how to do it outside of Excel or I just do it in my head.

19. Had Ipad mini 2019 – it was real pain and apple's stupidity in every aspect of your everyday usage, numerous restrictions everywhere. I Hate it so much. Now bought the Samsung tablet which is awesome after this crap.

23. Thanks so much for another great video. Some film editing apps have introduced a ‘speech to text’ feature for a fee. This would be a great free option in apple movie maker.

26. In notes, when recording voice, I’m not getting the text bubble to convert to text as I’m speaking 🤷🏻‍♀️only the ability to rename the note

27. Re US v Imperial volumes, and conversions – I have read that the US uses the old wine gallon and Britain the beer gallon. And coming to conversions and the common inability to deal with fractions except by using a decimal version, I saw in 1966 a mechanical card processor, then in use, which handled 4 bases: 4,12,20, and 10 (farthings and half-pence, pence, shillings, and pounds). No problems. Oh, and a drive train with a pair of elliptical gears. Always thought that mechanical engineers needed more brains than software engineers.
    PS want a laugh? One of my colleagues was doing a little calculation using the base 8. He knew that the answer would contain a half, but he always came up with .4 and (habit makes fools of us all) expected .5 . Reminds me of someone’s remark that there are ten kinds of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don’t.

30. Wow. I normally wait for at least .1 release before upgrading. But I might dive into the 18.0 release just to get the calculator sooner versus waiting for 18.1.

The most annoying behavior of the new Photos app is that when you tap on a photo in the Library it will not open in full screen view as before but instead it opens much smaller inside a frame full of various controls, and you need to tap on it for a second time to finally see it full screen. Any way to disable this? Thanks

33. I would love to have Apple finally update the address book. I have been sending suggestions to Apple for years to do things like look up postal code/zip codes, etc from the address entered. Why does the address book not do a better job of duplicate contacts and why is is not easier to move/combine a contact from other contact sources (Gmail, exchange, etc.). If I can identify a person in Photos and connect to a contact, why is the picture I selected in Photos not used as the contact picture??? At any rate, address book needs work…

35. Do anyone really require scientific calculator? Such serious calculation we do in laptop computers. In schools normally a dedicated sci calculator device is used.

39. What do I think about all this since the question was asked ? I just wasted 5’ of my time holding the screen to go 2x speed and another 2 writing a comment.
    I’m going to buy a typewriter soon. No Face ID, no hacking.

40. Can one trust bid Western tech with your eyes and hands or life? ….. No way am I upgrading my tech with US ,EU or UK. Going to Chinese and SE Asian companies for mine.

41. That tremor you felt when Apple released iOS 18 was Steve Jobs turning over in is grave due to inclusion of the Calculator app on iPad. There was no reason not to include it from the first release other than Job’s petulance. 😂

44. My iPads are used for work. I have purchased specific application to reside on the iPads. What we really need is a smaller less featured – less bloated IOS.
    Fortunately login passcodes and face are still Not required as this would be a safety hazard – delay in mission critical applications.

46. Make the 18°1 intelligent enough to recognise the face and align the profile accordingly → this would imply that as soon as I hand over my lpad to someone else the guest profile should activate automatically and only those apps which are allowed data guests only those should be seen.
