  1. Thank you for this video brother. I’ve never played an MMO before but this video has inspired me to give OSRS a try. I’m 10 hours in so far and think I’m going to stick with it.
    Big ups 👍🏿

  2. Seems like you got the real first time experience. I'm sure another comment mentions this: jagex allows a 3rd party client called RuneLite. It includes hundreds of plug-ins to give QoL for things like quest way points, ability to highlight monsters and objects being interacted with, and the famous quest helper. Quest helper gives you an overlay of a walk through.

  3. Your point about fast travel is how I experience London. The underground is a magical device that shakes a bunch and then eventually teleports to The next station. And I have no idea how they fit together above ground

  4. Prepping for Plagues End now…still need 3 lvls of woodcutting (all skills needs lvl 75), 5 lvls of agility, 5 lvl of construction and 7 lvls of prayer. That will be done somewhere in the next 2 weeks. I believe I did all the quests needed so I can start doing the quest itself. 😅 The quest itself would be a few hours (5-6) to do and after that….I can enter a new city 😂. Been of and on the last 2 decades and been working towards this goal the last 10 years. This game is huge! and grindy. But I keep coming back to it.

  5. This video inspired me to try out making an OSRS account and coming back to the game after being away from it for 17 years.

I only made it out of a whim to see how long it would take me to get bored of it but surprisingly it hasn't happened yet. Hit level 17 so far and am considering subscribing to get into the rest of the game.

  6. I loved every minute of this. As someone making their first game (strategy, not MMORPG don't worry!) I learned so much from this.

I played Runescape as a teenager, but haven't touched it in years. I've always wondered why some players adore the game so much.

Thank you for putting this together.

  7. what a great vid. i did like 70% of my pures quests while lsitenin (godbless runelite quest plugin, in the old days these pure quests took me weeks and how theyre done in the span of this vid)

im commenting on my WIFES account cuz too lazy to swithc but what a fantastic vid im gnan show it to her after we watch mario cart speedruns

  8. In Guild Wars 2 you don't need to burn through solo content to get to the end game multiplayer. There's end game relevant multiplayer you can do with your friends just about as soon as you launch the game. And there's solo / early game relevant content (map completion) that stays relevant even once you're raiding etc.

  9. This guy hasn't even played WoW or Runescape I've played them both for 20+ years now you don't even understand without guides there's tons of quest chains in just vanilla WoW that take you on treks across the globe and refer you to npc's you haven't dealt with or heard of in 5 zones and 45 lvls

  10. watched and trained range the entire video, This video is a masterpiece. Thanks for the time you invested to put this together 🙂

  11. This is a great video that shows love to the game. Jagex often gets yelled at by some players, but in the end we should be really happy with what they accomplished with this 'fork' of runescape

  12. I don't know why, but lately my YouTube feed was full of OSRS content. This one was my endpoint, and I must say this one hits different. I came for the title and ended changing my mindset I guess? Great video, great great work with the deconstruction of the game!

  13. jesus im watching this video 3 years later and its spot on and the fact you said you started in 2019, (i started in like 2008 maybe even a little before that) its exactly like the way you explained it loollll. its a game thats very afk but eventually when you start doing all the quest and level up ur skills ur able to play the game a whole complete different way. Im back on runescape (because you never quit, you just take long breaks) and since rs3 made my main move their, i made another osrs account and i am digging doing this all over again. RS3 is what most call EASY SCAPE, osrs is the orginal and always will be. COD sucks and this is finally a game where the cheaters are just people who are "Botting" but eventually if ur botting unless youre perfect at making a script, youll get banned.

  14. 99% of people who listened/watched this video were playing runescape at the same time.

Great video, i've learned so much about ways of expressing the appeal of this game to others and why it always sucks me back in after 15+ years. Every game no matter how modern or great it feels to play always ends with a boring gameplay loop at some point, runescape being no exception. Its the fact that runescape is essentially 23 different games and can be switched between faster than turning of a console game and inserting a new game that helps keep you hooked. Its the fact that at certain points as you said thresholds are met that change the experience of the game as you play it making it refreshing as you play. it the fact that no matter how many god damn hours i seem to put into it that I always have a goal each day i log in that i personally set based on what i feel like doing.

  15. 1:38:22 Bit late to the party but i'd argue that Path of Exile as it stands now should be firmly in Relevant Rewards section of Y Axis. Each type of old league content provides some sort of unique reward that can and is useful to at least portion of players. If it's not useful to you personally – you can trade it away, if you play in SSF way more of stuff you'd ignore in Trade League enviroment becomes incredibly useful as a means to achieving progression goals since you can't skip progression by trading.

  16. The thing is that the term MMO existed for everquest and runescape and a few others before any of the rest even existed. So if anything they should be the ones to get renamed.
