People appear to take satisfaction in believing , that the perpetrators of abuse of animals will get punished by karma, deity, whatever. Surely, vengeance is not what one should wish for, but that Gus and all the others never have to experience abuse and maltreatment. No “smiting” of the perpetrator will restore an untroubled mind to River for instance, remove distrust from Agapi’s mind. If you want to pray, pray that abuse does not take place – not that an abuser will be punished. Not your satisfaction counts, but that of the animal.
