Donald Cerrone sits down with ESPN MMA reporter Brett Okamoto to recall the (0:15) close calls he’s had with scuba diving, with one dive being the closest he’s been to death. “Cowboy” (6:50) looks back at the issues he’s had with Mike Winkeljohn and his last bout vs. Mike Perry. Cerrone (11:49) says he’s now focused on going for the title and wanting to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov. He also discusses self-sabotaging his career in the past, (20:50) including his first title shot in the UFC against Rafael dos Anjos, saying he lost the fight before he left the locker room. (30:03) Okamoto asks Cerrone about his infant son, Dacson Danger Cerrone, and the kind of dad he wants to be. (32:44) He closes things out with his outlook for 2019 after fighting Alex Hernandez at UFC Fight Night 143 in Brooklyn and his interest in fighting Conor McGregor.

Say what you will about Cowboy but he fights over several weight divisions. Win or lose.
Sure sometimes it's hard to know which version of Cowboy is gonna show up.
At his best, he can really go.
At his worst, it seems like he's not even trying.
I used to dislike the guy, honestly I have no idea why. But I've been a fan for some time now.
this is the 2nd time ive heard this story. the first was on the J.R.E. podcast. it was just as intense the 2nd time. cowboy is a muh fuckin man fellas. i could listen to him tell these stories for hours. im raising a beer to the cowboy right now.
I hope he’s wife doesn’t allow the poor child to be put under so much pressure.
Why no captions for this interview ??
So corny to me how he never had motivation to win for his grandmother or wife but only has it for his son..
The fucking champ! Regardless
amazing. so social. amazing man. replied this over and over just to absorb the interview
Listen to him tell the cave diving story on Joe Rogan podcast amazing story.
He talks shite
Most fights in a calendar year
Most wins

Most post fight win bonuses
Cowboy is a beast
Goodman I love cowboy!! McGregor IS his own belt, but with all the record breaking stats, cerrone is his own belt too!
Going to be fighting in Mountjoy prison…. Them conor rumors looking rough
I'm more interested in knowing why Cerrone has been training with Schilling whose a closet homosexual. You can verify this by taking the email address he uses with Twitter (easy to figure out as it's joe at the domain that he owns) and searching the okcupid and fling db leaks. His, 'interests' and what he was looking for says it all.
Fight Milk
Cowboy is my hero
My opinion of this man changed drastically… Good fighter, cool dude…
I wanted to see what kind of silver coins they where!
Mennnn he has so many intense stories I’m starting to think he is making up all these stories. He is a poser
Have Ariel do Brett’s work.
Great job by Brett to allow Cowboy to just go. Great interview, would love to get Cowboy back on JRE.
Cowboy deserves his own movie. Imagine if he ever gets the title? It would be a great ending to his career.
Just to think i used to hate the guy when i started watching mma lol Now he is one of my favourites.
He owned that Hernandez kid and traditionally he has always been a slow starter but i did notice he´s a bit older. Either that or he was injured or it was the weight cut. I hope i am wrong and he eventually gets the title.
One of the coolest dudes.
Connor IS the fight!!
@Devyn Bennett, where you at kid? Why did you delete all your comments? ?
"This guy" , to real love it…ghost ryder
I fucking love this man
I want Cowboy vs Ferguson this year
What hat is cowboy wearing, looks dope, I want one.
Cerrone's wife is trying to get that insurance money. We will see this story on Making A Murderer in 2024,
Nate broke this dude conor would do the same just ending in a knockout
Lets go Cowboy! Knock this pretentious douche tf out
HEY DONALD>>> YOU LOSE THIS FIGHT AND ALL YOUR MONEY DRIES UP. YOU HAVE AN ENTIRE NEW LIFE STARTING WITH YOUR SON AND NOW ISS THE TIME YOU NEED THE MONEY TO KEEP COMING IN FOR NEXT 10 YEARS. LOSE THIS FIGHT AND ITS GOING TO BE ALL OVER. Go get him bro
Cowboy is the Rocky Balboa of mma. Hope he can get the gold!
Since Nate had his way with him I haven't seen him the same
I know he's tough and takes fights all the time but I don't think he'll ever win a title.
If u want a title shot, call out Al Ianquinta ? let’s be honest that’s the harder fight
Tired of this dude
really respect the time stamps.. wish that was more common.
I'd beat Cowboy's skinny ass any day. Dude is a bum. Can barely throw a punch. He's gonna die of AIDS pretty soon. He's a closeted homo
Jk
