It's the politicians and media pundits who blow it up like people hate each other, and some extremists who show up to rallies and such. People from both parties live next each other, are friends with each other, have barbecues and go riding together, go to church together, and so on. Never forget: We The People, not We The Parties.

7. Hello, I know this is slightly off topic, but I am looking for an entry mtb for under 600$ which I will upgrade with a microshift advent and hydraulic disc brakes. Ive heard of a few bikes, like the Ozark, Norco and Polygon but now sure which one is good to upgrade. Thank you!

9. DC is a great place to walk, run and bike, when it's not killing runners and bikers and pedestrians. My prior daily commutes (17 miles each way from western burbs) were typically 3/4 old paved trail, rough but mostly safe, and 1/4 car traffic hell. I used to commute 17 miles each way in and out of Chicago all on busy roads and it was MUCH safer. DC area drivers have their noses in their phones nonstop, and inner-suburban roads can be hilly with zero space for a bike. We're lucky to live right on a Fairfax county bike/run/walk trail that hooks up to woods with singletrack and even some MTB park groomed trails (some of them old BMX race tracks from the looks of them, esp the jumps with deep pits behind them). From one Seth to another, next time you come this way, some exurban exploration is in order. I'll hook you up with a janky DIY recumbent for maximum sketch.

10. I just wanted to tell you that I live in Ohio small town. And I ride my I have two old vintage road bicycles and three mountain bikes. I ride my bike every other day around my city like 7 miles. Even in the winter I'll ride my bike I just wanted to tell you that. Take care buddy. I think the big hexagon you were talking about is the Pentagon.

11. Stop saying the country is more divided than it's ever been. We fought a fucking civil war 200 years ago. That was significantly more divided than we are today. I can walk down the street, see people of every different color, and, in general, there will be absolutely zero issues between us regardless of our cultures, religions, or political beliefs.

12. My exact experience with corner bars! They’re wack, inside bar-ends are the proper solution for getting more hand positions on the bike. Finising the C&O trail and riding down the National Mall is the most spectacular way to end a bike tour, 10/10 would recommend!

19. I was super lucky when I visited DC in 2022 I saw Joe Biden motorcade leaving the White House.

    I was in Lincoln memorial and decided to get one of the city bikes for a ride to the White House and noticed many cops in the streets until then the motorcade came.

36. I live in Arlington. I take that ride around the Cemetery to the Mall often to the Smithsonians for a weekend thing. DC is ver,y very bikable. Politics isn't really discussed out and about.
