After the Ohio Department of Agriculture obtained several bears from backyard cages and roadside zoos, it needed to find them good homes. Some were underweight, some were obese, and some suffered from intestinal parasites or broken teeth.
So PETA teamed up with The Wild Animal Sanctuary to transport the bears to the beautiful Colorado sanctuary, where they finally took their first steps into their brand-new lives.
Two of the bears had been pregnant when they were obtained by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and their cubs couldn’t get enough of their new home. Captive bear cubs are often taken from their mothers shortly after birth, but these mother bears will get to raise their own young, likely for the very first time.
After they get their bearings, they will all be released into vast naturalistic habitats, where they’ll finally have the space to live like real bears for the first time ever.

You people are fantastic, now take the old owners of those bears and put them in the old cauges give them some water let him sit there urine and feces for a while. You people give me Faith in mankind thank you very much great upload.
Bears are great!!! Leave them be!!! Wish they could eat some libs, but that would probably poison them. Maybe they could just chew'em up and spit'em out.
What type of evil person even captures a bear to keep them enclosed & to neglect them to the point of near death so thankful for PETA & the sanctuary that opened there fields to a forever healthy happy home to these bears. Thanks for sharing please send updates
1:19 that's different.
1:28 brand new lives in new cages?
PETA should release more videos like this to show their positive impact.
Very very very cool stuff PETA. AWESOME job. Just a beautiful story.
Looks like a big, open field. No trees. No rocks, boulders. No nothing.

Doing God's work.thank you all who care for his creatures.blessings in abundance to you!!!
They look healthy and should of been left in the wild to begin with.
Nice one PeTa, keep up the good work we need more organizations like you, RESPECT,??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Bears don't live on the prairie! I applaud your kindness but question your choice of new habitat! Is this the only place in Colorado you could buy? This is Eastern Colorado by the way for those of you didn't grow up on the Great Plains like I did. Bears belong in the foothills and ranges of the Rockies, not the plains! You basically took them from one prison and sentenced them to another! I've NEVER supported PETA and this is why! They mean well but they hurt those they help because of their emotional ignorance!
That was wonderful to see!
Winderful
So they are still confined? Release them into nature.
Tears of joy?
