The 10 WORST STATES for Natural Disasters

Spread The Viralist

Fire season. Tornado season. Hurricane season. Flooding season. Seems like there’s a season for everything here in America, doesn’t it?

Because of our unique geographical and meteorological situation, the United States is a sitting duck for natural weather phenomena. Tornadoes thrive here, hurricanes steer here, it rains a ton and the west coast is set up perfectly for hot, windy fire seasons every fall.

Of all countries with the MOST natural disasters, only China and India have more of them. Why? Just like us, these countries have large populations on the coast, and are prone to earthquakes, tropical storms and flooding.

Sort of just bad luck in terms of where you’re located on the planet I suppose.

Anyways, we’re talking about OUR country, so back to that. Here in the US, when you’re measuring the total number of natural disasters, there are ten states which are responsible for a third of disasters and damages. Of course, many of these will be the biggest states and the most populated states, but there’s some surprises in here too.

We’ll be talking about states like Texas, California, Florida and more.

  1. Your list is false and pathetic. Louisiana should be like rank 2. Or even 1. Complete and total BS. I sure hope this is your opinion because it sure isnt facts

  2. Good thing Tennessee or North Carolina are not on the list (or did I miss one of those?). I'm looking to move to either east Tennessee or western North Carolina, haven't decided which yet. I know they both can occasionally get tornadoes and floods but I would hate to find out one of those areas is constantly plagued by natural disasters. That would be a deal breaker.

  3. You left out a major category – Political disasters. Far worse than any natural disaster because they can last a very long time just look at California.

  4. Noooo!!!! 🤭 Number one on this video was my number one place to go to if I could move from Australia to America. Bugger!
Well, at least I can add that link as a part of my research resources to eventually work out which state is best for my standards.

Even Australia does have its own fair share (the country as a whole), especially in Queensland where we have fires cyclones, tornadoes, droughts, Frost and then we have political social problems like the highest unemployment in the country and other unnecessary problems, plus we’re broke.

  5. I will say Texas because a lot of tornado and i live in California and it not bad here earthquake is not going bad it just small because scientist said if we get small earthquake it only our good tsunami did came in the only thing i worries is just fires rain doesn't matter it find the rain in California thunder Strom is not bad from here out volcano never erupt before but I'm just gonna say Texas because it might be dangerous from tornado of gulf of Mexico because tornadoes alley

  6. Wow Nick, I had no idea you're psychic! I was just about to suggest content for natural disasters, and bam! there it is in my suggested videos… and you posted it a year ago. You got mad skills 👏👏👏 🤣

  7. Can you make a video about all the places you have lived?
I was 3 miles from the epicenter of the ‘89 quake, that was not fun!

  8. Louisiana should of been number 3. They got hit by 6 hurricanes in 2020. And everyone I've talked too says and knows Louisiana is the worst state for hurricanes and most likely for sure the worst area to even have a house. Louisiana for sure outranks Oklahoma. Louisiana was also ranked the worst state in the country due to Poverty. Murder rate. And Natural disaster risk.

  9. We got hit by a tornado in 2018 and 2019 in Celina Ohio. Everyone was hoping the school would get wiped out but it didn't. We've been trying to pass a levee for a new school for a while now

  10. When you live in texas but you only have experienced one hurricane, few thunderstorms, and droughts for your whole life:
    HOW ARE WE NUMBER 1.

Oh wait i have in the valley not in upper texas °~°
