THE VOSD PUPPY EDIT: WHAT THE LIVES OF ABANDONED, INJURED, SPECIAL NEEDS PUPS ARE ONCE THEY REACH OUR SANCTUARY.
PLEASE NOTE: The VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital does not accept healthy pups that have a dog family on the streets or a human family and home. Stray pups learn to survive on the streets with their families. Do not separate a stray puppy from its pack unless you intend to adopt the pup for life or get the pup adopted. Surrendering a dog to VOSD must be your LAST AND ONLY option. We provide this facility only so that no dog suffers abandonment or abuse. We are interested purely only in the welfare and well-being of the dog.
SUPER SEVEN GIRLS – ABANDONED OUTSIDE THE VOSD MAIN GATE
Our team of caregivers was driving back to the VOSD Sanctuary from the nearby market when they noticed tiny mice-like creatures running on the road outside our main gate. They rushed to get a closer look and noticed that they were seven puppies – all of them female, possibly of different litters. Someone had abandoned these babies in the terrible heat, who were barely a month old. Why? Possibly because female pups are a “nuisance” who will grow up to reproduce.
NALA IS AS FIERCE AND A TRUE FIGHTER AS A LIONESS!
Meet Nala, who was discovered by a couple in Bengaluru while feeding the community dogs in their locality. The previously healthy pup had disfigured hind legs and was paralysed hip-down. The month-old pup had suffered dog bites – the lesions on the skin making it evident. Unfortunately, the spinal column was fractured between L1 and L2, causing loss of any sensation/movement in her hind legs and below. Since the prognosis for medical intervention (surgery) was unpredictable and the pup wouldn’t survive if left alone on the streets with her special needs, she was surrendered to VOSD.
OH, WHAT DO WE DO WITH NAUGHTY LITTLE GIRL GUDIYA!
Gudiya is everything that one can expect from a puppy – cute beyond words, naughty as it can get and so playful that she tires us out! Today, she leads a normal life at our sanctuary but once faced a lot of pain at such a young age. She suffered from a broken leg and despite its healing, she was left with a permanent limp. Knowing such a young pup can’t survive on the streets and that she will need ongoing veterinary care & medical intervention, she was surrendered to VOSD.
HOW YOU CAN HELP VOSD HELP THESE SWEET PUPPIES
It brightens our day and makes us delightful that such tiny souls who were once in tremendous pain live carefree, healthy, and happy lives today at the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital. They will grow up to be strong, confident adults who will live with VOSD for the rest of their lives. Please help us care for these tiny tots by contributing to their food and medical expense every month.
A kind donation of INR 5,000 (~$68) one-time or monthly would be greatly appreciated by our four-legged babies:
